Procedural Safeguards Training
NJ Early Intervention System

Procedural Safeguards training has been scheduled in your region (REIC) as listed below:

Please register promptly for the training session. You may attend training in any region of the state regardless of where you work. Training will be cancelled if there is insufficient enrollment and will close when all spaces are filled. Within two business days you will receive an e-mail informing you of your registration status - either successfully enrolled or on a waitlist. Please ensure that the e-mail address which you have provided will allow e-mails from cspd@njeis.org . If you have not received an e-mail during this timeframe, please check your SPAM or junk mail filter and be sure that your system has not blocked the e-mail.

Directions to the training sites at the Regional Early Intervention Collaboratives (REICs) are available via www.njeis.org. Click on the region where you will be attending the training to obtain the most current directions to the REIC office. As navigation systems may not direct you correctly, we advise reading the written directions.

Staff wishing to refresh their skills on procedural safeguards may attend either of the above trainings but only if places are available after new staff have been registered. The procedural safeguards training is required for all new NJ Early Intervention System practitioners and service coordinators.

*What are Procedural Safeguards?
Procedural Safeguards are those procedures developed and implemented to protect the rights of children and families in the early intervention system. Procedural Safeguards provide a set of guarantees that certain processes and procedures will be followed within the early intervention system to safeguard the legal rights and protections available to children and families. This training will review the main areas of protections and discuss system procedures that must be followed.
